Party for the planet at EcoFest June 17.
Celebrate the earth with yoga, vegan food, rock climbing and craft beer at EcoFest, a Straub Environmental Center event at Riverfront Park.
At 10 a.m. Saturday, June 17, festivities begin with morning singalongs, followed by community yoga at 10:45 a.m. led by Indigo Yoga.
Science buffs should roll in at 12:30 or 2:30 p.m. for Mad Science, an entertaining demonstration exploring how electricity works.
Guests will learn how to conserve energy, as well as how electricity travels.
At 1 p.m., naturalists can stroll with a Salem Park Ranger to spot local wildlife, including birds and turtles.
Bringing the kids?
The city of Salem also will lead kids through a water pollution prevention obstacle course.
Straub Environmental Center is a Salem nonprofit that specializes in science and ecology education, including events, outdoor school and naturalist classes.
