Rabbi’s anniversary Rabbi Sam Weinstein is celebrating 25 years at Temple Shomer Emunim.
His congregation will recognize the anniversary on Friday with Shabbat service and dinner.
The dinner, which requires a reservation to at-tend, follows at 7:30 p.m. Reservations must be made by noon on Tuesday and cost $36 for adults.
Ray Kelly, who attained YouTube fame as the “singing priest,” kicks off his U.S. tour Wednesday in Toledo.
The Irish priest will perform in a benefit concert at the Historic Church of St. Patrick at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 and may be purchased by contacting Maury Collins at 419-699-6710 or Historic St. Patrick’s at 419-243-6452.
He has since landed a recording contract with Universal Music Ireland, produced two CDs, and performed in numerous concerts.
The Historic Church of St. Patrick is at 130 Avondale Ave. ‘Sacred Grounds’ A “Sacred Grounds” workshop on July 15 will invite diverse faith communities to beautify their properties and further their environmental stewardship through the use of native plants.
The workshop is inspired by the “Sacred Grounds” program through the National Wildlife Federation.
The local workshop is being organized through a partnership of the MultiFaith Council of Northwest Ohio, Oak Openings Region Chapter of Wild Ones, Rain Garden Initiative of Toledo-Lucas County, City of Toledo Stormwater Program, and National Wildlife Federation.
The workshop runs 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the University Church, 4747 Hill Ave.
