Chelan PUD issues boil water advisory
Chelan PUD issues boil water advisory.
Chelan PUD issued this press release at 10:15am Monday WENATCHEE – – Sometime early today the automated controls that operate the PUD’s water system, malfunctioned and a portion of the Chelan PUD water system affecting about 250 customers in the Olds Station area lost pressure.
Repairs have been made and water service has been restored.
The affected customers are within the following geographic area: Lower Sunnyslope Road/Penny Road on the West to Highway 97A on the East; the Wenatchee River on the South to about a half-mile north of the round-about.
However, when pressure is lost there is a potential for contamination to enter into the water distribution system.
As a result, the PUD is asking customers to boil water until it has been determined that the water is safe to drink.
Water samples have been collected and delivered to a local lab for analysis.
Results will be returned early tomorrow afternoon and the PUD will advise all customers at that time if the water is safe to drink.
Chelan PUD advises customers that boiling kills any potential bacteria and other organisms in the water.
The PUD knows this is an inconvenience for customers and will advise on the safety of the water as soon as possible.
