A great day for fishing, in University Circle (photos)

CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Doan Brook Watershed Partnership invited Northeast Ohio to go fishing Saturday at University Circle’s Rockefeller Park Lagoon.
More than 700 people bit and — with any luck at all — got hooked on the benefits and importance of clean water.
The turnout might have been the biggest yet, said founding board member Dorothy Adams, who noted the lagoon was stocked Friday night for the free event with bluegills, catfish and perch, with support from the Holden Parks Trust.
"Lots of food, folks and fun," agreed Cleveland Police Sgt.
Mark Bickerstaff, guiding participants to parking.
Tylia Parker, 11, had less luck in her first outing, but enjoyed the experience anyway with four siblings guided by experienced grandfather Richard Kelly.
"I just learned to cast," said Gale Sawyer of Cleveland.
"I was raised around people who fished but never took the time to learn.
Now I have an interest because I’m retired."
