by Thomas Lanahan, originally posted on September 27, 2016

COLUMBIA, SC (WACH) – The City of West Columbia has experienced a water line break effecting water customers.

The break is effecting residents on Merchants Lake Road, Park Circle, Karen Drive and the 1300-1400 blocks of Methodist Park Road.

The City says that once the water line is repaired and water service is restored, they should boil their water for one minute before drinking or cooking. Any ice that is made from water that hasn’t been boiled shouldn’t be used as well.

The advisory will remain in effect until lifted. Customers can check on any updates of the advisory at the City of West Columbia website.

Customers can also call customer service at City Hall at 803-791-1880 for any new information on the advisory.
