All of Daviess Co. under State of Emergency after water main break
The entire county is now under a State of Emergency following the water main break at the old OMU water plant early Monday.
Owensboro Police say a water main leak has flooded the 2000 block of E 4th.
The area between Birkhead Ave and Leitchfield Rd on E 4th St and E 2nd St have been blocked off entirely due to the leak.
This includes Wing Avenue.
Officials with East Daviess County Water say all customers in Daviess, Hancock, and Ohio counties are under a boil advisory.
All customers are being asked to conserve water.
At the Hometown IGA in Owensboro, they ran out of water bottles for sale, but say there is more on the way.
Officials with the Judicial Center tell us the building is closed Monday because of the leak.
Those closed parts of Owensboro Health include: Business Center Ford Campus (except for Owensboro Health medical group; maternal and fetal medicine) Healthpark Mitchell Memorial Cancer Center Owensboro Parks and Recreation is also closing off several of its features for Monday.
