Amherst residents affected by PFC contamination to get public water
People in Amherst affected by perfluorinated chemical contamination got the chance Thursday night to learn more about how they will be getting clean water.
Residents took the opportunity to address officials at a public meeting.
“I think it’s a difficult situation,” said resident Jeremy Hitchcock.
After finding PFCs in wells, TCI agreed to help connect impacted Amherst homes to public water.
“The solution being offered is a connection to public water."
TCI will give homeowners $1,500 to help adjust to the initial water bill.
Officials are urging residents to get signed up to get connected as soon as possible.
Officials said if impacted residents don’t get connected now, they will have to pay to be connected in the future.
