Boil Water Advisory: Evelyn Drive in St. Andrews Area

Columbia, SC (WLTX) — The City of Columbia has issued a Boil Water Advisory for water customers on Evelyn Drive, from Fernandina Road to Juneau Road and Raintree Apartment Complex, in the st. Andrews Area of Columbia.
Officials say the City of Columbia has experienced an 8-inch water main break, which could result in bacterial contamination of the water on Evelyn Drive, from Fernandina Road to Juneau Road and Raintree Apartment Complex.
Water customers should continue to vigorously boil their water for at least one full minute prior to drinking or cooking until otherwise notified by the City of Columbia Water Works.
Also, any ice made from water that has not been boiled should not be used for drinking purposes.
Any residents near the affected area who have lost water and/or water pressure are also advised to vigorously boil their water for at least one full minute prior to drinking or cooking.
The City of Columbia says it is working to correct the problem.
