Boil water advisory for Gatineau neighbourhood
The City of Gatineau is issuing a preventive boil water advisory for part of the Limbour District.
The notice is being issued because of planned work to replace the aqueduct on Saint-Louis Street.
The construction is expected to take place next night between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. Thursday into Friday.
The work is part of the rehabilitation of Route 307 by the Ministry of Transport, Sustainable Mobility and Transportation Electrification.
The area affected by the boil water advisory is: – East of Saint-Louis Street / Montée de la Source / Route 307; – West of Chemin des Érables; – South of Pointe-Pêlée Street; – North of Tire Street.
This notice is effective as of Thursday at 10 p.m. and will last until it is lifted by the city.
Some homes in the affected area may experience a temporary shutdown of their drinking water supply.
Many could also see a drop in water pressure.
The city is reminding residents affected to boil their water for one minute before consuming it.
Once the preventive advisory to boil the water has been raised, it will then be necessary: – to open all cold water taps and let the water run for a minute, or until it becomes cold, before drinking; – discard any ice made with the water for the duration of the preventive notice.
