Boil water advisory issued for several streets in Beckley

A boil water advisory has been issued for several areas in Beckley due to a broken main line.

The advisory was issued by the Beckley Water Co. for Dryer Avenue., 10 Street and West Cherokee streets, according to a news release from the water company.

Customers are advised not to drink the water without boiling water or use bottled water. Water should be brought to a boil, let it boil for one minute and cool before using. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, bathing, and food preparation until further notice.

Beckley Water crews are working to re-establish normal conditions and we will inform our customers when you no longer need to boil your water.
