Boil Water Advisory to be Issued Following OWASA Repairs in Chapel Hill

The Orange Water and Sewer Authority is in the process of repairing a water line in front of 214 West Cameron Avenue in Chapel Hill.
Once the repairs are completed, a boil water advisory will be issued when service is restored.
West Cameron Avenue between Wilson Street and Pittsboro Street has been closed throughout the day until repairs are complete.
Crews are taking measures to control the runoff of sediment into storm drains, which discharges into creeks and streams.
Residents may notice sediment in the street and cloudy water in ditches and streams around the area of the break.
Officials have not yet indicated how long the advisory will be in effect for.
OWASA has stated that eight customers and zero hydrants will be affected.
“Our OWASA team is working hard to repair the line as soon as possible.
Affected customers can contact OWASA for bottled water by calling 919-968-4421 at anytime,” OWASA communications and community relations officer Linda Low said in a release.
