(JB) The distribution of drinking water to a number of communities across Luxembourg will continue until Wednesday after last week’s floods left tap water contaminated.

According to a press release from the Luxembourg Government, water bottles were being distributed from relief centres at fire stations in Cruchten, Larochette and Reisdorf and at the school in Medernach.

The water is being distributed daily from 7am to 7pm until 7pm on July 27, pending the results of further analysis of water quality.

The population will be informed once water quality has been restored.

The green light was given on Monday for drinking tap water in Nommern and Ermsdorf.

However, tap water should not be consumed in the areas of Cruchten, Oberglabach, Niderglabach and isolated properties around Scheierhaff and Hemeschbaach, as well as in the communes of Larochette and Ernz valley (except Ermsdorf).
