Business to locate in Carey
It was announced during Wednesday’s Carey Council meeting that Creative Plastic Concepts will locate in the structure.
The design work is estimated at $1 million, while the new plant is estimated at nearly $9.6 million.
Separately, council approved an emergency ordinance to allow village Administrator Roy Johnson to contract with the lowest and best bidder for the Continental Structural Plastics roadway improvement project.
In a related matter, council approved an emergency ordinance to allow Johnson to apply to the State Infrastructure Bank for a short-term loan of about $327,000 to provide funds for the Wyandot County 96 improvements and improvements on Wyandot County Highway 98 (Elm Hill Road) into Arrowhead Commerce Park.
The village will pay a portion of the loan from village income tax collections placed in the capital improvement fund.
Bids for the Arrowhead Commerce Park road improvements will be opened July 19, while the Wyandot County Highway 96 road design is under review, Johnson said.
Also, council gave a second reading to an ordinance to allow Johnson to contract with the lowest and best bidder for preparation and paving of several alleys and streets.
An alley located behind 502 W. Findlay and 648 W. Findlay streets will be milled and prepared before an asphalt overlay.
A second reading also was given to an ordinance to establish a village beautification committee.
The five-member committee will include a council member.
