Eastburg Borough under boil water advisory after water main break

Absorbent booms can be seen around the demolition site of the former Kmart building in East Stroudsburg on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2019.
Cal Miller, of the East Stroudsburg Water Department, said a water main break caused by contractors at the site is responsible for the boil water advisory.
[PATRICK CAMPBELL/POCONO RECORD] The Borough of East Stroudsburg is under a boil water advisory until further notice after a water main break on Lincoln Avenue on Thursday afternoon.
According to Cal Miller, Head Water Plant Operator, the advisory comes as a result of a broken water main that was caused by contractors during the demolition process of the former Kmart plaza.
The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. and the boil water advisory was put into effect at 5:30 p.m.
It is unclear when the advisory will be lifted but Miller said lifting it typically requires two consecutive days with a total absence of coliform bacteria.
