PWSA Lifts Flush And Boil Advisory In Millvale.
Residents of Millvale are no longer under a flush and boil water advisory.
“The residents and officials in Millvale have been extremely patient and helpful as we worked through this boil water advisory, and we are grateful for their cooperation.
Our main goal at PWSA is, and will always be, providing safe drinking water to our customers,” said PWSA interim executive director Robert Weimar in a press release.
Early last week, PWSA ordered the advisory for nearly 18,000 customers in the northern part of the city, as well as Millvale and Reserve Township.
The concerns stemmed from torn and worn out covers at the Lanpher Reservoir in nearby Shaler Township, creating the possibility for contamination.
The advisory also came just hours after a consulting company charged with examining how PWSA should be restructured shared critical initial findings, calling the authority "a failed organization atop a dangerous and crumbling infrastructure."
“We acknowledge there is much work to do tto fix our aging and deteriorating infrastructure to rebuild our water supply and distribution system.
With approval of our Capital Budget Proposal by the PWSA Board, we are actively implementing projects as quickly and efficiently as possible,” said Weimar.
