Stop the importation of toxic water
March 30 is the last day that the Delaware River Basin Commission will take public input on new oversight rules for our watershed resources.
The four states of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York and Delaware all use the Delaware River as their water source.
But time is up on that temporary decision.
The new proposal would allow for toxic waste water to be imported into the Delaware watershed for disposal as well as allowing the export of millions of gallons of water per day from the river.
Once underground, chemicals toxins can continue to leach into drinking water sources.
While more states are banning fracking, Pennsylvania is not among them.
The Delaware watershed is a target in the industry scopes.
It was public pressure and environmental groups that brought about the temporary moratorium now in place, and now is the time to demand a permanent ban on fracking and all its related processes in the watershed.
Simply state your objections to hydraulic fracking and all related activities.
The deadline for comments is 5 p.m. March 30.
