Boil water advisory for parts of Hull lifted

The city of Gatineau has lifted the boil water advisory that was imposed earlier this week after a water main break on Alexandre-Taché Boulevard.
In a media release Thursday, the city said analyses and tests confirm that the water is safe to consume.
Affected residents should open all taps and let the water run for one minute or until it runs cold before using it.
This also applies to water fountains, and any ice made from tap water during the advisory should be discarded.
Gatineau Mayor Maxime Pedneaud-Jobin said in a radio interview Tuesday evening the city should have the roadway repaired by Friday at the latest.
The mayor said the break was another warning that Gatineau, like most municipalities in Canada, needs “urgent” action to make up for “40 years of neglect to infrastructure (in Gatineau and) Quebec and Canada.
“(Infrastructure systems need about) $1.3 billion of catch-up, just for Gatineau.
This is not just theory.
These are broken and aging infrastructures,” the mayor said.
The mayor said there was no construction at the site that might have caused the break, and that pipeworks in the area are “not particularly old.”

Garden City Boil Water Advisory lifted following outage

GARDEN CITY, GA (WTOC) – Garden City has lifted a boil water advisory that was put in place as a precautionary measure after the city experienced a water outage Thursday morning.
The city advised residents living in the area bounded by Dean Forest Road, Augusta Road, US Highway 80 east of the Norfolk Southern Rail Yard and Main Street need to boil water before drinking it or using it for cooking.
They say an equipment malfunction at the Garden City water system caused the outage.
Why the equipment malfunctioned is still under investigation.
“I go to wash my hands and there is no water coming out, so I’m like okay, that’s weird.
I check the bathtub nothing.
I check the kitchen, nothing,” said Garden City resident, Lakesha Leach.
Leach then checked her next door app and saw that she wasn’t alone.
“It threw us off track, because we had already started using the water, which I’m sure a lot of people had.
It sickens me, because I don’t know what’s going on, what’s in that water, or in my system at this time because of that," she said.

Boil Water Advisory near Bank Street

KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — A water main break on Egleston Avenue Sunday resulted in a temporary loss of pressure, and that has triggered a precautionary boil water advisory for homeowners in the immediate area for the next few days, until test results are back.
Homeowners between Reed Court and Bank Street on Egleston, Clinton and Terrace Court are advised to either boil their drinking water, or use bottled water until the advisory is lifted.

Boil water advisory for part of Kalamazoo

The advisory is in effect in the areas of Egleston Avenue, Clinton Avenue and Terrace Court between Reed Court and Bank Street, and around the intersection of E. Stockbridge Avenue and Reed Court.
People within that area should boil their tap water for at least two minutes before consuming it.
You can still bathe in the water.
The water main break, which happened on Egleston Avenue, has been fixed.
Such breaks cause a drop in water pressure that can allow bacteria to enter the system, but county health officials say no bacteria had been found as of Sunday.
The results of testing to confirm the water’s safety should be back by Wednesday.

Boil water advisory after creek washes away bridge and water pipes

MINGO COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) — A rising creek washed away a bridge and 200 feet of water pipes, leaving 500 customers without water.
Police tell WSAZ heavy debris underneath a bridge in the Lenore area blocked water from passing underneath, causing the water to rush up and around the bridge.
The bridge washed away Sunday night.
Rushing waters also carried away water pipes.
Police said that a boil water advisory is in effect Sunday night for the area of East Kermit all the way to western Lenore and the town of Nagatuck.
Police also said that classes for Tug Valley High School, Lenore K-8, and the Kermit Area School have been cancelled Monday due to no water.
There will be water distribution centers at the Kermit Fire Department, the Lenore Fire Department, and the Williamson Fire Department Monday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Police said that customers can expect to be without water at least through Monday.
Officials said getting to the other side of the creek to repair the pipes is difficult because the bridge has been destroyed.
Keep checking WSAZ.com and the WSAZ app for any updates.

Icy conditions cause problems in Henderson County; boil water advisory in place for some

In Henderson County, DOT crews have more than two dozen trucks on the road, working to clear the icy spots.
We spoke with a resident who lost power during the storm and is currently under a boil water advisory.
Early Tuesday morning a big rig got stuck in the snow when trying to turn into a parking lot along Chimney Rock Road.
For the town of Laurel Park, the boil water advisory is in place on Royal Drive because of a water pump outage.
The customers most likely to experience low or no water pressure are those in the vicinity of Timber Creek Road, Echo Drive, Robinson Lane, Apple Lane, and the portion of Laurel Park Highway between Echo Drive and Essowah Drive.
All customers are receiving the Boil Water Advisory.
This interruption of water requires issuance of a Boil Water Advisory.
The Town encourages all customers to use bottled water or vigorously boil tap water for 1 minute before consuming it.
Wait for the water to cool before using.
When water systems experience low pressure or lose pressure, there is an increased risk of contamination.
