GRANT TOWN, W.Va. (WDTV) — A boil water advisory is in effect for Grant Town Water customers in Baxter Hill until further notice.
Officials say the advisory is due to a water line break.

Kalamazoo Co. PFAS Response: The Latest
A precautionary Boil Water Advisory that took effect Friday for 5 homes in Kalamazoo and is expected to be lifted Monday.
The move was made to ensure safety after construction on new water infrastructure that is being installed for residents in Parchment and Cooper Township caused a loss of water pressure for some residents in Kalamazoo.
Municipal water customers in the affected area may use bottled water for consumptive purposes or boil their tap water for 2 minutes prior to use for drinking or other ingestion.
Testing on surface water for the Kalamazoo River took place this week.
The DEQ collected 36 samples of surface water on Monday, August 6 and Tuesday, August 7 from the Kalamazoo River upstream and downstream of Parchment including several samples collected in the immediate vicinity of Parchment and the former Crown Vantage Paper property.
Testing results are expected to arrive starting next week.
Results from the river testing and private well testing is expected to be released next week.
Since Saturday, July 28, the DEQ has worked in the communities of Parchment and Cooper Township to test private residential drinking water wells.
Results from those tests have yet to be made public.

Businesses, residents deal with boil water advisory in Fondren
JACKSON, Miss.
(WJTV)– Business owners in Jackson tell us they lost money Saturday.
Water was shut off so city workers could repair a valve Saturday.
WJTV 12’s Shay O’Connor reports around 50 customers in the Fondren area are under a boil water advisory.
Boil Water Advisory in place for Ashcroft
ASHCROFT — The community of Ashcroft is now under a boil water advisory, thanks to the storms yesterday.
In a news release, Chief Administrative Officer Michelle Allen says the current water quality is poor because of increased turbidity, caused by the heavy rainfall and mudslides yesterday.
She says the notice will stay in place until the water clears, and that could take at least a couple of days.
With the increased turbidity, newborns, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems can be compromised.
Allen says the advisory is a precautionary measure at this time to ensure the public is protected.
Boil water advisory lifted in the Village of Catskill
the advisory was issued due to concerns about an algae bloom in the reservoir due to the high heat.
Now that the advisory has been lifted, it is no longer necessary for customers to boil their drinking water before use, the Village of Catskill says.
Boil water advisory issued for part of DeSoto County
The City of Hernando is issuing a boil water notice for all east of Della and Thousand Oaks.

The city is working to fix the leak.
FOX13 also learned the following about a local elementary school being impacted.
School officials were informed that Hernando Hills Elementary Schools may be included in the boil water alert that is affecting portions of the city of Hernando.
As a result, school officials are taking precautionary measures throughout the school day.
The water fountains were disabled before students arrived on campus, and students will receive bottled water to drink throughout the day and at lunch.
Restrooms can be used as normal.

City-wide boil water advisory rescinded
VERNON – A boil water notice issued Aug. 3 for all Vernon water customers has been rescinded.
City of Vernon rescinded the advisory early Tuesday morning.
Due to a water line tie-in connected to the widening of lanes on State Road 79, the city had been under a five-day boil water notice.
Chlorination of the water system and the satisfactory completion of the bacteriological survey and showed the water was safe to drink.

Boil water advisory again issued for Western Acres Mobile Home park
For the second time this year, state health officials have issued a boil water advisory for Western Acres Mobile Home Court in Reno County due to the property owner’s failure to test the water.
The trailer park at 4718 Nickerson Blvd.
is on a public water supply maintained by the park’s owners.
The state previously issued a boil advisory in late February for the same issue.
At that time it took more than 2 ½ weeks to resolve, with the order lifted March 8.
The park at that time was managed by Justin Witt of Premium Management, 322 N. Main St.
The park’s co-owner is Vince Stephens.
Residents in the park should observe the following precautions until further notice: • Boil water for one minute before drinking or food preparation or use bottled water.
• Dispose of ice cubes and do not use ice from a household automatic icemaker.
• Disinfect dishes and other food contact surfaces by immersion for at least one minute in clean tap water that contains one teaspoon of unscented household bleach per gallon of water.
Boil-water advisories: Aug. 9, 2018
Raleigh County Public Service District has issued a boil-water advisory for Arnett System water customers from 6430 Coal River Road to and including Lower Walhonde.
The advisory follows a water main break.
Customers in these areas should boil their water for at least one full minute prior to use until further notice.
Several Lake City neighborhoods under boil water advisory
LAKE CITY, S.C. — Residents living on several streets in Lake City are under boil water advisories Wednesday morning following a fire hydrant break overnight.
Homes on Williamsburg Avenue, Blanding Street, Taylor Street, Lyerly Street, Peachtree Street, Pine Street, Singletary Avenue, Rogers Avenue, Carolina Avenue, Lake Street, Valley Street, Charles Street, Acline Street and Saul Street.
Residents will need to boil water through Friday morning while the city awaits test results to make sure the water is safe to drink.
