Entire town of Abita Springs under boil-water advisory until further notice

ABITA SPRINGS, La.
— All of Abita Springs is under a boil-water advisory until further notice.
Town officials said Abita Springs’ water system experienced a loss of water pressure after a water main break Monday on Highway 36.
Officials said all residents in Abita Springs should boil water until results show it is safe for consumption.
That applies to all water uses for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth or for food preparation at home or at restaurants.
Those with weakened immune systems are advised not to wash their hands, shower or bathe in the water.
Do not consume tap water or make ice with tap water.
Shake water in a bottle to get rid of flat-tasting water.

Boil water advisory issued after water main break in Pittsburgh neighborhood

A boil water advisory has been issued for streets in the Brighton Heights and Marshall-Shadeland neighborhoods.
We’re working to learn how long the advisory will be in place, for Channel 11 News starting at 5 p.m.
A water main break sent water flowing down a road in Pittsburgh’s Brighton Heights neighborhood Monday morning.
The break in a 16-inch water main was reported on Brighton Road.
Water gushed from under the road and flowed toward Woods Run Avenue.
Crews are working to make repairs.
Work is not expected to be completed until about 1 a.m. Tuesday.
“We are working as hard as we can to get it repaired and water back on as soon as we can,” John Leckie, Pennsylvania Water and Sewer Authority, said.
A water buffalo has been placed at the intersection of Brighton Road and Woods Run Avenue for affected customers.

HERKIMER – A boil water advisory is in effect for a section of Herkimer due to a water main break on Westwood Drive.
Herkimer officials say a boil water advisory is in effect for Meadow Lane and lower Westwood Drive until further notice.

Worthington issues boil water advisory

The water department is working on a leak.
Residents should boil water before use until further notice.

Suez: Boil water advisory lifted for Middletown customers

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. (WHTM) – Customers of Suez Middletown Water can stop boiling their drinking water.
The company announced Friday that a problem has been corrected and boiling is no longer necessary for Middletown residents.
The state Department of Environmental Protection approved lifting the advisory.
It was issued Wednesday after deficiencies were identified at one of Middletown’s wells.
Suez said the deficiencies included a loss of disinfection of water entering the distribution system.

UPDATE: EKU boil water advisory lifted

RICHMOND, Ky. (WKYT) – Richmond Utilities says a boil water advisory that affected eight buildings on the EKU campus has been lifted.
The boil water advisory was the result of a water main break on Lancaster Avenue, according to Kristi Middleton, an EKU spokesperson.
According to Richmond Utilities, water quality tests were conducted and no hazard was detected.
It is now safe to use water in the following buildings: Blanton House Burrier Cammack Campbell Coates Foster Jones Roark

Boil water advisory issued for Surgoinsville Utility District

1 / 1 Surgoinsville Utility District SURGOINSVILLE — The Surgoinsville Utility District is reporting that due to Hill Tank going empty on July 19, 2018, we have reason to suspect that the water distribution to some customers of the Surgoinsville Utility District may be contaminated.
Until further notice; water customers who have experienced water outages to very low pressure in the middle of town in Surgoinsville are advised to boil water prior to using it for drinking or food preparation.
Reported outages occurred on the higher elevations of Ridge Street and those on the higher elevations served from South Zion Hill Road.
As a precaution, customers should take the following steps: 1.
Prior to boiling, the water should be strained through a clean cloth to remove sediment or floating material.
The water should then be heated to vigorous boil, and the rolling boil should be maintained for at least one minute to insure disinfection.
We are continuing to search for the problem and are purchasing water to try to fill the tank.
Once the problem has been solved, water gains and we conduct sampling, we will ask the State to lift the boil water alert.
We are expecting the boil alert to be in effect throughout the week but could be longer depending on sample results.

Clio lifts boil water advisory

CLIO (WJRT) (7/19/2018) – People who live in Clio can once again drink straight from the tap.
A boil water advisory issued for part of West Vienna Road was lifted on Thursday.
The city issued a Drinking Water Warning on Tuesday after a contractor exercising valves in the water system left one closed, causing water pressure to drop to an unsafe level.
Two tests conducted 24 hours apart after water pressure was restored showed safe levels of bacteria, allowing the advisory to be lifted.
