After power outages near the Thomas fire, the city of Ventura sent out an advisory asking residents north of Poli Street and Foothill Road to use boiled tap water for drinking and cooking as a safety precaution.

Store water in a clean, covered container.
City officials will inform residents when the water is once again safe to drink.
Wash produce with bottled or boiled water.
Make new ice with bottled or boiled water.
Give your pets bottled or boiled water.
Be careful not to swallow any water.
Use cooled, boiled water to bathe babies and young children.
After the boil water advisory is lifted, run cold-water faucets continuously for at least 5 minutes to flush them out, and change your water filters.

BULLITT COUNTY, KY (WAVE) – Louisville Water has lifted a boil water advisory that was issued for some Bullitt County customers on Sunday afternoon.
The boundaries of the alert included Coral Ridge Road, Brooks Hill Road and Woods Bend Drive.
Water quality tests confirmed on Monday that the water was safe to drink, according to a release.

Louisville Water informed customers who noticed discolored water to flush the water lines by running cold water from the highest point in the home.
Work crews finished water main repairs on Saturday, but issued the boil water advisory due to a drop in pressure.

Boil advisory lifted for OMU customers, Daviess Co. residents

The boil water advisory has been lifted for customers of Owensboro Municipal Utilities (OMU).
A news release from OMU said the advisory was lifted on Saturday for its customers as well as those customers with the three water districts in Daviess County.
The release states during the advisory, no contamination was found in the system.
The advisory was put in place as a precaution after the water system experienced a drop in water pressure.

Boil water advisory issued for parts of St. George

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment says they advisory is in effect for all people living on 2nd Street, 3rd Street, Jefferson Street, and Jackson Street.
KDHE issued the advisory due to a loss in pressure, which they say can cause a loss in chlorine and bacterial contamination.
People in the affected area should observe the following precautions until further notice: Boil water for one minute prior to drinking or food preparation, or use bottled water.
Dispose of ice cubes and do not use ice from a household automatic icemaker.
Disinfect dishes and other food contact surfaces by immersion for at least one minute in clean tap water that contains one teaspoon of unscented household bleach per gallon of water.
Water used for bathing does not generally need to be boiled.
Persons with cuts or severe rashes may wish to consult their physicians.
The advisory will remain in effect until KDHE determines the system is no longer at risk of contamination.

UPDATE: Boil water advisory issued after sinkhole opens in Dunbar

DUNBAR, W.Va. (WSAZ) — UPDATE 11/30/17 @ 2:05 p.m. West Virginia American Water has issued a boil water advisory for customers living near where a large sinkhole was reported Thursday morning.
This is along the 300 block of 24th Street in Dunbar.
The alert from WVAW says 45 customers including the 300 block of 24th Street, 2400 and 2500 block of Dunbar Avenue and 25th Street from Box 301B to Box 330 are affected by the advisory.
Crews were expected to repair the water main break that caused the sinkhole sometime Thursday afternoon.
Once service is restored, customers will be under the advisory until further notice.
Those customers should boil water for a minimum of one minute before consumption.

West Virginia American Water has issued a boil-water advisory for approximately 10 customers on the East End of Charleston, including the Capitol Complex, Washington Street East from Michigan Avenue to California Avenue, California Avenue from Washington Street to Piedmont Road and Piedmont Road from California Avenue to Greenbrier Street.
The advisory follows a water main break.
West Virginia American Water has issued a boil-water advisory for approximately 84 customers on the Milliken area of Charleston.
Streets affected are Cascade Drive, Cranbrook Drive, Windsor Place, Elkhart Drive, Vindale Drive, Kirkwood Drive, Milliken Drive, Mandalay Lane, and Windsor Drive.

The Orangeburg Department of Public Utilities has issued a boil water advisory for water customers on Frazier Lane and Petunia Street.
As a precautionary measure, water customers on these streets should vigorously boil their water for at least one full minute prior to cooking or drinking.
Also, any water customers in the vicinity of the affected area who have lost water or water pressure are also advised to vigorously boil their water for at least one full minute prior to cooking or drinking.
The advisory is in effect until otherwise notified by Orangeburg DPU.
The Orangeburg DPU Water Division is presently working to correct the problem.
A boil water advisory is also in effect for water customers on Cannon Bridge Road from Kennerly Road to Robinson Road including Woodchopper Dr., Wish Dr., Robinson Road, Tatum Dr. and Nipper Drive.

DPU issues boil water advisory for area along Cannon Bridge Road

The City of Orangeburg’s Department of Public Utilities is advising water customers in the Cannon Bridge Road area to boil their water as a precautionary measure.
The advisory applies to water customers on Cannon Bridge Road from Kennerly Road to Robinson Road including Woodchopper Dr., Wish Dr., Robinson Road, Tatum Dr. and Nipper Dr. in Orangeburg County.
The customers are asked to vigorously boil their water for at least one full minute prior to cooking or drinking.
Also, any water customers in the vicinity of the affected area who lost water or water pressure are also advised to vigorously boil their water for at least one full minute prior to cooking or drinking.
Water customers should continue to vigorously boil their water for at least one full minute prior to cooking or drinking until otherwise notified by Orangeburg DPU.
DPU’s Water Division has experienced a two-inch water main break in the vicinity.
The Water Division is working to correct the problem.
