The city’s public water supply is located in Miami County.
The advisory will remain in effect until the conditions putting the system at risk are considered adequately resolved by KDHE officials.
As part of the advisory, residents affected should: Boil water for one minute prior to drinking or food preparation, or use bottled water.
Dispose of ice cubes and do not use ice from a household automatic icemaker.
Disinfect dishes and other food contact surfaces by immersion for at least one minute in clean tap water that contains one teaspoon of unscented household bleach per gallon of water.
Water used for bathing does not generally need to be boiled.
Persons with cuts or severe rashes may wish to consult their physicians.
If your tap water appears dirty, flush the water lines by letting the water run until it clears.

(WJTV) — Boil water advisory issued over the weekend for Jackson water customers have been lifted.
The Mississippi Department of Health said the water is now safe to drink.
The advisory has been lifted for the following areas.
MSDH says these are the steps you should take now that the advisory has been lifted: Flush faucets for a total of 10 minutes to introduce system water throughout house plumbing.
Example: 1 faucet — run for 10 minutes 2 faucets — run both for 5 minutes 3 faucets — run each for 3-4 minutes Flush any faucet a minimum of 2 minutes to ensure clearing of the line serving the faucet.
Discard any drinks, ice, food, etc, made during the boil water notice.
Do not use water from your hot water heater for drinking until several exchanges of the tank have occurred.

Crews were hard at work Friday trying to patch up a water main.
It left many people and businesses without water throughout the night and into Friday morning.
The main broke around 9:30 p.m. Thursday on M-80 in Kinross Charter Twp.
Crews closed the road between Water Tower Dr. and Meehan St. until about 2 p.m. Friday.
"I was all ready to close today," Pizza Patch owner Robert Huntley said.
"To be without water, you know, we’re behind a little bit, but we’re catching up."
"The biggest customer that was affected was Kinross Correctional Facility," Masterson said.
"We try not to shut their water off very often."
"In corrections no day is the same," Michigan Department of Corrections spokesperson Chris Gautz said.

DETROIT (WWJ/AP) – More than two dozen public schools in Detroit will remain closed Friday due to a boil water advisory covering parts of the city and the enclaves of Hamtramck and Highland Park.
Schools in Hamtramck will also be closed Friday for a third-straight day.
The Detroit Public Schools Community District says that after the advisory is lifted water lines in the 29 schools will be flushed with running water prior to Monday morning’s start of classes.
The Detroit schools were closed Thursday as a precaution following the advisory, which was announced earlier this week.
An equipment malfunction at a Great Lakes Water Authority treatment facility on Tuesday caused low water pressure.
The problem was addressed, but the advisory was issued due to concerns that bacteria could have gotten into the system.
Customers will be advised when the boil water advisory has been lifted, which is expected by noon Friday.

The Whitefish water system recently experienced a water main break that caused the system pressure to drop and some areas of town to be without water.
The city of Whitefish public water supply has experienced a water main break.
Water system personnel worked diligently to get the break isolated and water pressure is being restored.
These people should seek advice about drinking water from their health care providers.
Microbes in these wastes can cause diarrhea, cramps, nausea, headaches, or other symptoms.

NOVI (WWJ) — A Boil Water Advisory remains in effect in Novi two days after officials issued the notice.
Consumers in the area of Eight Mile and Haggerty Roads are being told to continue boiling their water following a water test on Saturday.
The boil water advisory impacts only Orchard Hill Place, Haggerty from Orchard Hill Place to Eight Mile, Turnberry subdivision and those area businesses.
Officials did not detail what caused the problem, and it’s not clear when the problem will be resolved.
A boil water notice means it is recommended that those affected do not consume water from a tap unless it is boiled for five minutes, and then allowed to cool in a sealed container.
Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation as boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water.
