Gans Road water main break leads to boil advisory through Thursday
A boil advisory was issued Tuesday afternoon for parts of southeast Columbia, according to a news release from Consolidated Water Supply District No.
1.
It will be in effect until noon Thursday.
The advisory was issued after a water main break on Gans Road.
Consolidated Water customers in the area between Providence Road and Gans Creek Road, including those along Gans, Bearfield and Rock Quarry roads, as well as Highway 163 South, are included in the advisory.
Water that will be used for drinking, food preparation or used for consumption in any way should be boiled, according to the release.
Water used for hand-washing and bathing does not usually need to be boiled.

Village of Schoolcraft issues boil water advisory
SCHOOLCRAFT, Mich. — For the next 24 hours residents in the Village of Schoolcraft are advised to boil their water after the water distribution system loss water pressure.
According to officials, an outside contractor shut off the water valve which resulted in the loss of pressure for a period of time.
Although the water pressure has been restored, officials took samples to test for bacteria in the water.
It takes up to 24 hours for those tests to come back but according to officials they hope to have the problem fully resolved by then.
Residents are advised to only used boiled or bottled water for drinking, preparing food, brushing teeth, making ice and washing dishes.

Businesses impacted by San Angelo boil water advisory
Sonic Drive-in, 527 W Beauregard Ave., remains open, but is only selling bottled water and food.

St. Martinville boil water advisory rescinded for most
The City of St. Martinville has rescinded its boil water advisory for all residents except for those living on Oak Drive.
The water was turned off on Saturday to make a repair to the main water line.
Residents living on Oak Drive should boil water for at least one minute before consuming.
Church Point boil water advisory lifted
Officials with the Church Point Water system says that some customers are NO LONGER under a boil water advisory.
Customers along Marie, Michelle, Jeanne, and Francois Streets were placed under a boil water on Monday, September 10.
Water is now safe for consumption.

This is a precautionary notice as BVU works to resolve a water main break in the area of Bristol’s Goodson Street, according to a written statement.
BVU expects to restore water service to all customers around midnight tonight.

Those in the Plum Branch and Highway 28 South area should still boil their water for a minute before drinking or cooking with it.

Authorities have lifted boil water advisories for four water systems in Rhode Island PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Authorities have lifted boil water advisories for four water systems in Rhode Island.
The Rhode Island Department of Health says the advisories have been lifted for the Suez Water, Narragansett – Point Judith, South Kingstown – South Shore, and South Kingstown – Middlebridge water systems.
They have been in place since Aug. 31.
Officials say recent samples taken in those systems were free of bacteria.
The boil water advisory for people in the Narragansett-North End system is still in place because samples collected on Sept. 5 and Sept. 7 contained coliform bacteria.
