Boil Water Order Issued For Mokena
MOKENA, IL – Much of unincorporated Mokena has been placed under a boil water order.
A water main break in the area on Wednesday has caused the order for those who are serviced by the American Water Works Service Company.
The order does not apply to residents who live in the incorporated part of the village who get a monthly water bill from the Village of Mokena.
Illinois American Water sent out an emergency alert on Wednesday indicating the order should last for around 36 hours.
It is listed as having begun earlier on Wednesday morning.
A map shows areas affected hover mostly around La Grange Road, between La Porte Road and Birch Avenue.
The company says those in the affected area should bring their water to a rolling boil for five minutes before using water for drinking or cooking.
