Areas of Boone County advised to boil water

Areas of Boone County are under a precautionary boil water advisory due to low water pressure and a leak in a water main, Consolidated Public Water Supply District No.
1 announced in a release.
The advisory is in effect from until 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday and affects customers located in the area between Highway 124 on the north, Benedict Road east of Perche Creek on the west, Dripping Springs Road to Old No.
7 on the south and Old No.
7 on the east, the release said.
Customers in the affected area are instructed to boil water for three minutes prior to use and use only boiled water for drinking, brushing teeth and all other food preparations or consumption.
Do not use ice from an automatic ice maker or use ice made with unboiled water.
Disinfect dishes and other food contact surfaces by immersion for at least one minute in clean tap water that contains one teaspoon of unscented bleach per gallon of water.
Water for washing hands or bathing does not need to be boiled, the release said.

LeeAnn Colalella, a local resident, woke to no water in her home Monday morning.
She’s not alone; while Channel 11 was at the Ambridge fire station, dozens of people showed up for drinking water, hoping the problem is fixed soon.
"I just need some water so I can clean up and flush toilets," said Emma Gibson of Ambridge.

"We will be working well into the night to fix this."
Once the line is fixed, there will be two days of DEP water testing before things can go back to normal.

Boil water advisory for Richland Street in Columbia

A section of Richland Street in Columbia is under a boil water advisory after a water main break.
According to the city, residents of Richland Street between Main Street and Park Street is should boil their water for at least one full minute before drinking or cooking.
The water main break occurred between Main and Park streets and could possibly result in bacterial contamination.
City of Columbia Water Works is working to correct the issue.

Boil water advisory in Fort Coulonge could end next week

The boil water advisory for Fort-Coulonge is still in effect.
The Pontiac announced the advisory on March 15th, stating that an electronic part in the water plant had broken, and that water coming through taps would be untreated.
myFM News can tell you that officials say they’ve received the part they need, and it’s been installed.
The water reservoirs will be washed out over the weekend and the Pontiac says testing on the water will begin Monday, with the boil water advisory hopefully being lifted by Wednesday.
Until then, residents of Fort-Coulonge must still boil tap water for drinking, preparing baby food, washing fruits and vegetables, making ice cubes, brushing teeth and water for your pets.

EID issues boil water notice

The El Dorado Irrigation District has issued a “boil water notice” in an area of El Dorado Hills due to a recent waterline break.
Repairs are underway along Salmon Falls Road to make the necessary repairs.
Residents are asked to use bottled water or tap water that has been boiled for at least one minute and then cooled for drinking, food preparation, brushing teeth and other personal hygiene uses.
Do not use ice from automatic ice makers and do not rely on commercial water filtration systems.
“We do not have an anticipated time of repair at this time,” officials said.
EID will contact residents when it is safe to use water and the boil water advisory has been lifted.

The El Dorado Irrigation District has issued a boil water notice starting on Thursday, March 22, at 11 a.m. due to a water line break along Salmon Falls Road in El Dorado Hills.
The boil water notice affects approximately 80 service connections.
Affected customers have been alerted by phone and email and are advised to use bottled water or tap water that has been boiled for at least one minute and then cooled for drinking, food preparation, brushing teeth and other personal hygiene uses.
Do not use ice from automatic ice makers and do not rely on commercial water filtration systems.
EID crews are working on scene but do not have an anticipated time of repair at this time.
The district asks that affected customers continue to boil water or use bottled water until they receive notification from EID stating that the boil water advisory has been lifted.

Boil water advisory issued for some in Raceland, Ky.

RACELAND, Ky. (WSAZ) — A boil water advisory has been issued for some Raceland residents, according to a news release from the city.
It is affecting residents in the Dillow Avenue subdivision.
People in that are are urged to boil any water used for drinking, cooking, oral hygiene, bathing and watering pets.
The advisory is in effect until further notice.

A boil water advisory that affected thousands of customers since Monday has been lifted.
AMBRIDGE — A boil water advisory that affected thousands of customers since Monday has been lifted.
Michael Dominick, general manager of the Ambridge Water Authority, confirmed that the boil water advisory was lifted by the Department of Environmental Protection at noon on Thursday.
The advisory was put in place Monday morning after an incident that occurred early Sunday morning when an operator at the water plant noticed a large crack in a pipe near the plant.
The crack caused water pressure to fluctuate throughout the water authority’s system, and some neighborhoods in higher elevations lost water completely.
The Ambridge Area School District was affected and classes had to be canceled Monday at Highland Elementary School.
The elementary school reopened Tuesday, but students there and in the high school were restricted from drinking the water during the boil water advisory.
Creekside Springs, a Pulaski Township business that bottles, packages and labels water bottles, donated “countless” pallets of water for use by residents, and the fire departments in all three communities personally delivered water to those who needed it.
“So many people helped out,” he said.
“I want to thank the community as a whole for being understanding, and the fire department for handing out water and doing everything that was asked of them, and more.” He added that everyone “came together to solve this problem as best we could.” Finally, Dominick said the crack in the pipe has been fixed and “everything is good” in the Ambridge Water Authority’s system.

Some Point Blue customers in Ville Platte to experience water shutoff, boil advisory

The Point Blue Water System says that some customers in Ville Platte will have their water shut off on March 22, beginning at 10:30 am.
Point Blue says that customers living on Rue Des Cajun, Rue Maury, and Rue Richaume will be shut off March 22 at 10:30 am.
Crews say repairs are being made to a 2-inch flush valve.
The water system says customers will experience the shut off for approximately one (1) hour.
Customers will be under a boil water advisory after the water is restored.
The water system will update when the advisory has been rescinded.

Boil water advisory in effect for some Greenport residents

GREENPORT – All Greenport residents in the area of Route 9 and Kipps Mobile Home Park must boil and conserve water until further notice.
Emergency personnel responded to a major water main break at 329 Fairview Ave. in front of Furniture Plus in the town Tuesday, according to a statement from the town clerk.
Officials with the Greenport Water Department noted high water usage and decreasing water levels and capacity, according to the town.
Residents, including several residents of the Kipps Mobile Home Park called the town reporting low water pressure, according to the town’s statement.
Crews fixed the water main break Tuesday.
Residents must boil water for drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth and preparing food and infant formula until further notice, according to the town.
Bring tap water to a rolling boil, boil for one minute and cool before using, or use bottled water certified for sale by the state Department of Health.
Limit showers and baths.
Do only full loads of laundry.
Be sure to check the water that goes into the wash tub prior to putting clothes in.
