Water main damage prompts boil water notice in Green Cove Springs
GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla. – A precautionary boil water notice is in effect for parts of Green Cove Springs after a contractor damaged a city water main at the intersection of U.S. 17 and State Road 16, city officials said.
The notice applies to water customers at: Speedway and Cove Plaza at the corner of U.S. 17 and SR 16 Elks Lodge, Hickory Grove Baptist Church and Day Care 4630 County Road 209 South Rolling Die The water had to be shut off while repairs were made to the water main, and after water flow is restored, samples have to come back clear of bacteria before officials can lift the boil water notice.
The notice went into effect at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Customers should boil any water used for drinking, cooking or any type of consumption for two minutes.
Customers will be notified when the boil water notice is lifted after tests come back.

Boil water advisory for parts of Estill County
ESTILL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Some customers in Estill County are under a boil water advisory.
The Estill County Water District says the boil water advisory is for customers in the following areas: Eck Hollow Road to Red Lick Road, Sawmill Rd, Sang Branch, Horn’s River Road, Logsdon Branch, Deer Lick, McSwain Branch.
Water customers in those areas being told to boil their water until further notice.

Boil water advisory lifted in Tresckow
Residents in Tresckow are no longer under a boil water advisory.

Municipal Authority — which provides water to Tresckow, as well as McAdoo and Kline Twp.
— said the advisory was lifted Tuesday morning.
“All the tests came back good,” DeBalko said.
Impacted residents received calls Tuesday alerting them that it’s now safe to drink the water.
The advisory had been in effect since last week because of a new water line that runs up Tresckow Road from the Altadis cigar plant and the McAdoo Industrial Park.
When the authority connected the line, it had to take two good, back-to-back samples before the advisory could be lifted.
Samples were taken Thursday and Friday, and positive results were received Tuesday.
Boil advisory lifted in Mahoning Township

— The water in Mahoning Township is safe for residents to drink again.
Township officials lifted the boil advisory this morning following a second round of testing, township Supervisor Chairman Bill Lynn said.
Residents who live in the area from Kingsley Avenue west to the Locust Lane, Primrose and Barberry courts and Locust Lane north to and including Red Lane, have been under the water boil advisory since a water main broke on Locust Lane early Sunday morning.
The state Department of Environmental Protection requires two positive tests to ensure bacteria levels are not too high.
A second positive test result came back late Tuesday, Lynn said.
Boil advisory lifted for parts of Trotwood after water main repairs
A boil advisory issued for parts of Trotwood Tuesday has been lifted, according to a release from the city Wednesday morning.
FIRST REPORT (Feb. 20): A boil advisory has been issued for parts of Trotwood while crews make repairs to a water main, according to a city public works spokesman.
The advisory is in effect for residents on East Main Street between Wolf Creek Pike and Broadway Avenue.
Residents on South Sunrise Avenue are also included in the boil advisory.
The boil advisory is in effect until further notice, according to the media release.
Residents are asked to boil their water for a minimum of three minutes before consumption or use for oral hygiene.

Tammany Utilities will rescind this BOIL ADVISORY upon notification from the Louisiana Department of Health – Office of Public Health that additional water samples collected from our system have shown the water to be safe.
Customers affected by this advisory will be advised when it is rescinded by hand delivered notices, and updates to the Parish website and social media sites.

— Residents who have received a notice must boil the water they use for consumption, according to notices taped to residents’ doors.
The notice states, "A water boil advisory will be in effect March 18 until further notice.
A section of this Montour County municipality is without water service due to a water main break on Locust Lane, near Wodenshire Lane.
The break could be repaired by this evening, but affected residents on the upper side of Bloom Road still will have to boil their water, township Supervisor Chairman Bill Lynn said.
At first there was difficulty turning off the water and the hole kept refilling from water shooting out of the pipe.
Workers used a sump pump to pull the water out.
Lloyd Craig, who heads the street department, said just before 2 p.m. workers had shut off several valves, but one of them may have been broken.
He said the break was discovered just after 1 a.m., but the street department had to check with PA One Call to check if other utility lines were under the road.
Neither Craig nor Lynn knew how many customers were without water.
Boil water advisory lifted for Lemon Island
OKATIE, S.C. (WCBD) – Beaufort Jasper Water and Sewer Authority and South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control announced that samples taken yesterday show that the water on Lemon Island is free from bacteria and is safe for human consumption.
The boil advisory for Lemon Island is now suspended.
The precautionary advisory to boil water used for drinking or cooking was issued because of loss of water pressure due to a brief power outage to the high service pumps.

Boil water advisory canceled for Emporia, Lyon County
EMPORIA, Kan. (KSNT) – A boil water advisory is now over for the city of Emporia Sunday.
The Kansas departmen tof Health and Environment issued the advisory Friday because of high turbidity, which can be described as cloudiness.
It’s an indication that was is not being effectively filtered.
KDHE said high turbidity could result in bacterial contamination.
Laboratory testing samples were collected from the city and indicate no evidence of contamination, according to KDHE officials.
All condiitons that placed the system at risk of contaminaiton have been deemed resolved.
Turbidity has no health effects, according to KDHE.
However, it can interfere with disinfection and provide a medium for microbial growth.
City officials tells KSNT News a filter valve malfunctioned and the situation was quickly resolved.
In July 2017, a large number of residents in Lyon County were left without water after a major water main break.
Boil water advisory for part of the Lowcountry has been lifted | Island Packet
A boil water advisory issued Saturday for Lemon Island following a drop in water pressure caused by a power failure has been lifted, according to a release from the Beaufort-Jasper Water and Sewer Authority and the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control.
In a joint statement both agencies said that water samples taken from Lemon Island on Saturday show no bacteria in the water, and that the water is safe for human consumption.
A brief power outage overnight between Friday and Saturday caused the drop in pressure that necessitated the advisory, according to the release.
A Saturday release announcing the advisory said that when pressure drops, the chance for bacteria from soil and groundwater to enter the public water system through cracks or leaks in pipes increases.
A pressure drop can also cause backflow, wherein dirty water can be sucked back into pipes.. Never miss a local story.

The advisory was issued Saturday around 1:30 p.m. and lifted Sunday just after 4 p.m. Beaufort-Jasper Water and Sewer Authority apologized in the release for any inconvenience caused by the incident.
