Boil drinking water advisory in effect for St. Walburg
Residents of St. Walburg are currently without running water after a waterline break depleted the town’s reservoir and a power surge blew its water pump.
Both incidents occurred Tuesday night and though the town isn’t sure when full service will be restored, administration said they may be able to run it for a few hours today, which prompted St. Walburg to issue a Precautionary Drinking Water Advisory.
Anyone who gets their water from the town have been asked to boil all water they plan on drinking for at least one minute and avoid drinking from publicly supplied water fountains.
Administration said the plan is to turn the water on so residents can stock up to use their toilets and wash dishes.
The town isn’t turning the water on for people to drink it, but understands it can’t stop anyone from consuming it either, which is why they issued the advisory.
The town suggested drinking bottled water in a release.
As of right now the advisory is planned to run until Mar.
8, but according to administration it may lifted earlier if they can get the problems repaired sooner.

Boil water advisory remains for 230 on Spartanburg Water
Spartanburg Water crews have finished repairs to restore service to customers affected by a water main break Tuesday, but a boil water advisory remains in effect.
Utility officials confirmed the work had been completed a little before 10:30 a.m. Thursday.
Crews were called to a site near Southport Road where a 12-inch line break was found in a water main.
The advisory effects about 230 customers in the area of Southport Road from South Avenue to Matthew Perry Road, Canaan Church Road, Sequoia Drive, Pinton Drive, Summerland Drive, Bayberry Drive, Old Canaan Road, South Meadow Drive, Canaan Road, Seay Lane, Loop Road, Bullington Road, Carolina Country Club Road, Lakeland Drive, Michael Drive and Seabrook Drive.

Lawson said there’s no known contamination in the water, but quality testing is required after a water main break and repair.
Anyone with questions should call Spartanburg Water at 864-582-6375.

Boil water alert issued for part of West Bloomfield
West Bloomfield Township officials have issued a boil water alert for part of the community because of a broken water main.
The area affected is located east of Hiller Road and north of Greer Road, they said.
They also said the advisory should be lifted by Friday evening.
A problem with a 16-inch water main located along Greer Road Tuesday prompted township officials to issue the advisory.
The township said Wednesday the water main has been repaired and service returned, but they urge residents and businesses in the affected area to continue boiling water before it’s consumed.
Experts say before consuming tap water in areas affected by low water pressure, the water should be boiled for one minute and cooled before being used.
Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water.
Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and food preparation until further notice.
