Water-quality tests have confirmed that the water continues to meet U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Safe Drinking Water Act and Iowa Department of Natural Resources regulations, so customers do not need to boil water before drinking or cooking.
The advisory was the result of a 16-inch water main break that happened Monday in the 1400 block of 13th Avenue South in Clinton that had an impact on the entire community.

‘Boil filtered water’ advisory issued for parts of downtown Flint
FLINT, Mich. – A ‘boil filtered water’ advisory is in effect for two buildings in downtown Flint.
According to the Flint public works department, a water main break on Second Street between Saginaw and Harrison Streets is affecting service to the Ferris Wheel Building and the Dryden Building.
Both of those buildings are on Saginaw Street.
Public Works director Rob Bincsik says the ‘boil filtered water’ advisory is a precautionary measure meant to protect the health and safety of water customers in the area.
Special emphasis was put on the boiling water run through a filter to remove lead.
Customers who do not use a filter to remove lead from their water are advised to let the water run for a minimum of seven minutes before boiling it in order to ‘flush’ the line.
Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and preparing food.
Boiling the water kills bacteria and other organisms in the water.
The city will notify water customers in the affected area when the boil water advisory is lifted.
Anyone with questions can call the city of Flint Water Department at 810-766-7202.
