MAYETTA, Kan. (KSNT)– People in the city of Mayetta are under a boil advisory since before 11 Thursday morning.
Cori Jager has never been under a boil advisory before.
“I actually didn’t even think about brushing my teeth and then I thought, ‘oh,’” she said.
He said they have sent a water test to the Kansas Department of Health and Environment and hope to lift the advisory by tomorrow afternoon.
Dispose of ice cubes and do not use ice from a household automatic ice maker.

Boil water advisory lifted for Swansboro
.
SWANSBORO, NC (WITN) Another town in the east was under a boil water advisory in less than a week, which impacted businesses and residents.
Last Friday Atlantic Beach issued a boil water advisory. That forced restaurants to close until the all clear was given a day later.
Wednesday the town of Swansboro in Onslow County experienced the same thing after a contractor for Walmart hit one of their water lines and broke it.
Restaurants in Swansboro told us inspectors recommended they close as well. They were able to open on Thursday when the advisory was lifted.
While such advisories can be inconvenient, Onslow Water and Sewer Authority CEO Jeffrey Hudson says proper precautions are critical.
Hudson says, "Anytime the pressure in the system, which is constantly pressurized, anytime that pressure reduces there is some minute chance that water might enter at the point of the break."

UPDATE: Boil advisory issued after 6 water main breaks in Hobart
HOBART — A precautionary boil advisory was issued by Indiana American Water for nearly 6,000 Hobart customers, because of several water main breaks late Sunday into Monday morning, the company said.
The advisory affects customers in the area bounded by West 37th Avenue, West 14th Street, Clark Street and County Line Road, the company said.
The water main breaks were at 411 W. Old Ridge Road; Third and Wisconsin streets; West 37th Avenue and North Colorado Street; West 42nd Avenue and North Delaware Street; West 41st Avenue and North Wisconsin Street; and at Southlake Mall, the company said.
Water used for washing and bathing does not need to be boiled.
According to an alert from Hobart, some Indiana American customers may have experienced low or no water pressure.
Indiana regulations require a boil advisory to be issued as a precaution any time water pressure drops below 20 pounds per square inch in any part of the distribution system, Indiana American said.
The cause of the breaks remained under investigation late Monday morning, though they could be related to the first break on Old Ridge Road, Indiana American Water spokesman Joseph Loughmiller said.
It’s not unusual to have several breaks because of pressure changes that can occur when values are operated and changes are made at pumping facilities in response to an original break, he said.
Monday’s breaks follow a water main break Thursday in front of the Red Rooster Restaurant in the 1100 block of West 37th Avenue in Hobart.

Should I still be boiling my water post Irma? Check here.
Check here.. After Hurricane Irma, several cities in Miami-Dade and Broward counties issued boil water notices because of ruptured pipes or damaged sewer lines.
Some cities have since lifted the orders, others have not.
Some cities, like Dania Beach, have issued boil water advisories for only part of the city, depending on where a person lives.
In the case of Dania Beach, only Broward County utility customers who live west of I-95 have to boil their water.
There is no boil-water order at this time.
The water should be mixed and allowed to stand at least 30 minutes before use.
If the water is cloudy, health officials advise using 16 drops of bleach and a 30-minute waiting time.
For a full list of communities affected, the Florida Department of Health is maintaining a rolling list at www.floridahealth.gov.
