Boil water advisory issued for Erin.
ERIN, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Residents in Erin in Houston County are being advised to boil their water before consumption until further notice.
The Houston County Emergency Management Agency sent out the alert Monday night, according to WKRN News 2.
The water department told News 2 once service is restored it could take up to 48 hours to determine if any bacteria is in the water.
On Monday, thousands of gallons of water were trucked in from nearby Benton County.
The fire department is conserving that water for firefighting, but also gave some of the water to a healthcare facility.
Inmates from the Houston County Jail have also been relocated to Humphreys, Dickson and Stewart County jails temporarily.
While no cause for the water outage has been stated, the area has been dealing with flooding over the last few days.
Schools in Houston County are closed on Tuesday.

Boil water advisory issued in Kalamazoo Township neighborhood.
KALAMAZOO, MI — A precautionary advisory is being issued for municipal drinking water customers living in a west section of Kalamazoo Township.
The city of Kalamazoo’s Department of Public Services announced Monday that it is repairing a water main break near the intersection of Kaywood Drive and Junedale Drive.
The affected area includes all of Kaywood Drive, all of Junedale Drive, all of Doncrest Drive, and the houses on Alamo Avenue on the north side of the intersection with Kaywood Drive.
This advisory is precautionary.
Initial sampling results will be available within 24 hours and the final set within 48 hours, according to a press release.
The city expects the advisory will be lifted within 72 hours.
A Boil Water Advisory warns residents their drinking water may be contaminated.
When a break occurs in a water main, or a complete loss of pressure in a significant part of the water system, there is the possibility for contaminants to enter into the water main while the repair is being completed.

Boil Water Advisory In Effect Throughout Fort Wayne.
Fort Wayne City Utilities has issued a precautionary Boil Water Advisory until further notice for much of the city.
The order is in effect for parts of the city bounded by Washington Center Road in the north, a portion of Maplecrest and Meyer Road in the east, the Hillegas Road and St. Marys River in the west and Tillman Road in the south.

The advisory was issued after a power surge occurred at the American Electric Power/I&M substation near Lawton Park.
According to a statement from the City, the surge resulted in a 60 second loss of pressure in some parts of the community.
Any water to be used for cooking or drinking should be brought to a rolling boil for five minutes then cooled before it is used for consumption.
City Utilities has notified its major customers including hospitals, schools and food manufacturers about the boil advisory.
City Utilities customers are asked to share information about the boil water advisory with other residents.
The 311 call center will have extended its hours until 7:30 p.m. tonight.

MOREHOUSE PARISH, La.
(Press Release) – The Beekman Water System, Inc. is experiencing problems with the water supply.
Because of these problems, the water produced by the water supply system is of questionable microbiological quality.
Therefore, as a precaution, the Beekman Water System, Inc. is issuing a BOIL ADVISORY effective immediately.
This BOIL ADVISORY is to remain in effect until rescinded by the Beekman Water System, Inc.
It is recommended that all consumers disinfect their water before consuming it (including fountain drinks), making ice, brushing teeth, or using it for food preparation or rinsing of foods by the following means: + Boil water for (1) one full minute in a clean container.
The one minute starts after the water has been brought to a rolling boil.
Again, please be sure to disinfect your own water prior to consumption until you have been advised otherwise.
Upon such notification, the Beekman Water System, Inc. will then rescind the Boil Advisory and notify its customers that the water has been found to be safe.

Aspinwall Borough Boil Water Advisory Set To Expire Today.
ASPINWALL (KDKA) – A Boil Water Advisory for Aspinwall Borough, first announced Wednesday morning, was extended through Friday at 3 p.m.
Problems for residents began Wednesday morning, and there were plans to have the problem solved by 10 a.m. that same day.
That didn’t happen, and folks in the area have been boiling their tap water since then.
Some had brown water flowing out of their taps, a few had total service interruption.
The water pressure was low and it could have resulted in bacterial contamination.
The pump has now been repaired, but tests are currently being done to assure residents that the water is safe.
The borough manager says it takes about two days to get the water samples analyzed.
Residents can use the water without boiling it for taking showers and washing laundry, but those using it for drinking it or cooking should continue to boil it.
Those with questions are asked to call the borough office or go to the borough website for the latest updates.

ASPINWALL, Pa. — A boil water advisory remains in effect for Aspinwall on Wednesday.
Maintenance took a pump offline as part of routine maintenance around 1 Wednesday morning.
Crews had a hard time restarting it.
Will Pickering of Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority said this is a PWSA line.
Pickering said it is common for water to come out brown for a short period of time after restarting a pump that’s been down for a while.
The advisory has been extended until Thursday to allow time for water testing by Aspinwall Borough.
Lang is optimistic the water will come back clean Thursday morning.
For the time being, residents are encouraged to boil any water they might consume, directly or indirectly.
Bathing, Lang added, is okay.

A new boil water advisory has been issued for a portion of Battle Creek.
The city of Battle Creek says Tuesday morning that citizens on the affected streets need to boil water for at least a minute before using it for things like drinking, making ice, brushing teeth or food prep.
This is necessary because water main work is taking place, and when water pressure is lowered bacteria can enter the system.
The following streets are under the boil water advisory until further notice: Capital Ave. between Washington Ave. and Goguac St. Harrison St. between Burnham St. and Corwin St. Arthur St. between Goguac St. and Corwin St. Corwin St. between Capital Ave. and Arthur St. Whittier Ave. between Capital Ave. and Harrison St. Tennyson Ave. between Capital Ave. and Harrison St. Janoah St. between Capital Ave. and Harrison St.
Boil water advisories typically last at least 24 hours, but may take longer.
Once testing is done to determine that bacteria levels are safe, the advisory will be lifted.

Boil water advisory issued for Saddle Brook Estates

WAXAHACHIE — Due to a 24-inch water transmission main failure, water service had to be shut off to the Saddle Brook Estates area and a boil water advisory announced Monday morning.

It also notes consumption to include washing hands or face, brushing teeth and drinking.
“To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and ice making should be boiled and cooled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes.
The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes.” The release explains that residents should, instead of boiling, purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source of drinking water.
“When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, the City of Waxahachie public water system officials will notify customers that the water is safe for drinking water or human consumption purposes,” the release states.
“Once the boil water notice is no longer in effect, the City of Waxahachie public water system will issue a notice to customers to rescind the boil water notice.” According to the City of Waxahachie release, the water transmission main was repaired and placed back in service during the early morning hours Monday.
As of press time, city personnel was flushing the water mains and performing water quality analysis.
