Water boil advisory for some Imperial Lane residents

Due to water main repair work at 535 Imperial Lane, a water boil advisory has been issued for 12 properties in the 500 and 600 blocks of Imperial Lane, according to a news release from the city water distribution department.
The residences affected are at: 525, 530, 529, 535 536, 600, 601 606, 607, 610, 611 and 614.
As a precaution, residents should vigorously boil, for at least one minute, any water used for drinking (including water used to make ice), cooking or oral hygiene.
As an alternative, residents could use bottled water.
Samples are being collected from the area to test for bacterial contamination.
A notice will be issued when the boil advisory is lifted by the water distribution department.

SALEM — A large water main break on Highland Avenue has left numerous customers without water this morning, and caused two schools in the area to distribute bottled water to students. Police confirmed that, as of 9:30, public works crews were still on scene trying to make repairs. Road Construction Projects Abound in the Ohio Valley.
Repair work may begin next week on the U.S. 22 Veterans Memorial Bridge between Steubenville and Weirton after the deck and an expansion joint were damaged by a piece of equipment that fell off a truck late Wednesday evening.
The equipment first hit an expansion joint on the bridge and then damaged the concrete bridge deck.
One lane of Ohio 7 was closed because of concerns about debris falling from the bridge.
The bridge will be limited to one lane eastbound until the repair work is completed, Khalifa said.
∫ In Ohio County, drivers can expect various lane closures in both directions of Interstate70 between the Dallas Pike exit and the Pennsylvania state line as a result of a paving project.
This project is expected to be completed by April 21.
One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained at all times.
The alternate route for southbound traffic is the U.S. 250 Extension to Jefferson Avenue, Seventh Street and W.Va. 2.
Traffic will be maintained during non-working hours with traffic lights.
