UPDATE: No school for Peshastin Elementary students, boil advisory remains
UPDATE: There will be no school for students at Peshastin-Dryden Elementary school today as a precaution due to the E. coli detected in the water by the water district on Friday. A boil advisory was issued for water customers on Saturday afternoon, which still remains in place. All Cascade Schools remain open.
PESHASTIN- A boil advisory was issued this afternoon for residents of Peshastin after e-coli was found in a test done Friday.
The test found contamination in one of the water sources, and the cause of the contamination is under investigation.
Residents are advised to boil water or purchase bottled water for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and food preparation until further notice.
Fecal coliform and e-coli are bacteria whose presence indicates that the water may be contaminated with human or animal wastes.
