Water main break affects RPAC, water pressure of Ohio State buildings

A water main break reported early Thursday on Olentangy River Road near Ohio State’s Fawcett Center is causing water pressure issues throughout campus.
The City of Columbus Public Utilities team is on site of the main break and is in the process of making repairs, according to Ohio State’s facilities operations and development website.
The RPAC was without water from 5 a.m. to 8 a.m., said Dan Hedman, an Ohio State spokesman.
He said while the water pressure in several on-campus buildings was low and could be affected as a result, no boil advisory was issued by the City of Columbus Public Utilities.
Hedman said students, staff or faculty who experience water outages or issues should report it to Service2Facilities at 614-292-HELP (4357).
The main break caused some flooding near the area of the incident, which resulted in a temporary closure of Olentangy River Road between Lane Avenue and Ackerman Road.
