Water main break prompts boil water advisory for portions of Jacksonville’s Westside
Water main break prompts boil water advisory for portions of Jacksonville’s Westside.
A water main break on the Westside of Jacksonville has prompted a precautionary boil water advisory Monday afternoon for a large portion of that area of the city, JEA officials say.
Customers in the Adams Lake Community, Lauren Oaks Community, Cherokee Cove Community and those living on Normandy Boulevard between Fox Creek Drive and Cecil Commerce Parkway.
NOTE: JEA released an update removing the Chaffee Pines Community from the boil water advisory.
That area is NOT under a boil water advisory.
The other areas are.
Water used for drinking or food preparation should be brought to a rolling boil for at least one minute before use, JEA says.
It is also recommended that customers flush their home’s water lines for at least three minutes to remove any air and possible sediments from the lines.
The notice will be in effect until the problem is corrected and after two consecutive days of satisfactory bacteriological testing.
