Boil water advisory issued in Lexington County.
Columbia, S.C. (WACH)–The City of Columbia Water Works advises the water customers of Settlers Way Road, Rapids Ford Court, and Olde Stream Court, located in Lexington County, to vigorously boil their water for at least one full minute prior to drinking or cooking.
Also, any residents near the affected area who have lost water and/or water pressure are advised to vigorously boil their water for at least one full minute prior to drinking or cooking.
The City of Columbia has experienced 8 inch line repair.
This could possibly result in bacterial contamination of the water on Settlers Way Road, Rapids Ford Court, and Olde Stream Court.
This boil water advisory will remain in effect until it is lifted.
The City of Columbia Water Works is presently working to correct the problem.
All food processors and restaurants should comply with prescribed USDA and SC DHEC recommendations, respectively.
