Boil Water Update And More About Water Main Break
"The precautionary boil water advisory for all rural customers has been lifted by the Water Security Agency, so all water is safe to drink," stated Ron Fellner, Manager of the Weyburn Utility Board.
Last week’s water main break (which saw Weyburn and area residents without water for close to 12 hours) left some people wondering if anything could have been done differently by the city.
He added that nothing could have been done differently based on the condition of the pipes and they were lucky to be able to lift the water advisory for the city so quickly.
Almost one and a half meters of pipe broke shortly after one in the morning last Wednesday.

Due to the severity of the break and how frozen the ground was, it was necessary to shut off the water.
A decision they hoped to not have to make.
Fixing the broken pipe was a huge job that had to be done in a timely manner, as so many people relied on the water source.

"To have the water restored to the city within 12 hours is amazing," added Keshta.
