UPDATE: Boil Water Advisory issued for 20 roads in Parkersburg and Mineral Wells

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) – UPDATE: 5/3/2018, 4:44 P.M.
The Parkersburg Utility Board has issued a Boil Water Advisory for customers on 20 roads in Parkersburg and Mineral Wells.
Parkersburg Utility Board officials say a contractor working in the area damaged a water main at 6138 Pike Street (WV-14) in south Parkersburg, forcing water valves to be closed and causing water pressure in some areas to drop.
PUB says to safely boil your water, bring all water to a boil, let it boil for one minute, and let it cool before using, or use bottled water.
Boiled or bottled water should be used for cooking, drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth, and bathing.
The leak is being repaired and water lines in the affected area will be flushed.
PUB will provide notification once the results of the tests are received.
Some businesses and residents along Pike Street (WV-14) in south Parkersburg are out of water as crews repair a water main break.
According to the Parkersburg Utility Board, at 12:30 P.M. Thursday, a water main break was reported near Jumbo’s Buffet and Grill on Pike Street (WV-14) in the Pettyville area of south Parkersburg, across from Walmart.
PUB workers are currently repairing the broken water main and hope to have repairs completed by 5:00 P.M. Thursday.
