Boil water advisory continues in Rotterdam
Water service has been restored but a boil water advisory remains in effect.
Rotterdam Town Supervisor Steven Tommasone says the first of two water quality tests being conducted.
The second test will take place Monday.
Advisory could be lifted as soon as Tuesday.
All customers in the Town of Rotterdam, excluding Rotterdam Junction, should boil wall water for drinking and culinary purposes until further notice.
DO NOT DRINK THE WATER WITHOUT BOILING IT FIRST.
Bring all water to a boil, let it boil for one (1) minute, and let it cool before using, or use bottled water certified for sale by the New York State Department of Health.
Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation until further notice.
Boiling kills most bacteria and other organisms in the water.
