Officials: Boil water advisory still in effect; work completed
by Ashley Ann,
LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) — The boil water advisory for surrounding Lynchburg areas are still in effect, according to the Lynchburg Department of Water Resources.
They say they have completed the water line work in the Pleasant Valley, Tyreeanna and Route 460 areas. They say Water Resources has been filling the 24-inch water line, and the majority of water customers in the affected areas should now have water.
Residents may experience a milky appearance to the water due to air in the system. It is recommended to fill a glass with water, and if the cloudiness does not clear in a few minutes, contact Water Resources at (434) 455-4250. Water Resources is currently flushing the water system, and water samples are being collected today to be tested to ensure the safety of the water supply. As a precaution, a Boil Water Advisory will remain in effect until at least Wednesday, July 13, when the results of the water quality testing will be known.
They say the advisory will remain in effect until Wednesday, July 13.
