Boil advisory remains in effect for McGregor after water main break
McGREGOR, Iowa – A boil advisory remains in effect for McGregor following a water main break Monday.
The break occurred at about 2 a.m. Monday in the 100 block of Main Street.
Water service was restored later in the day, but officials issued a boil advisory in its wake.
In a social media post, the city said residents would be notified when the advisory was lifted.
In the meantime, “Bring water to a boil for one minute and let it cool.
Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking cooking, making ice, brushing teeth and food preparation.
Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms that may be in the water.” For more information, residents are advised to call McGregor Municipal Utilities at 563-873-2258.
