Boil Water Advisory announced for parts of UL- Lafayette Thursday, Aug.16 thru Sunday, Aug. 19
The housing development, under construction at the corner of East Lewis and Johnston streets, will be connected to the city’s domestic water system at 9 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 16.
This process may introduce bacteria into the campus water supply.
As a precautionary measure, some University buildings will undergo a boil water advisory from 9 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, through 10 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19.
The following University buildings will be affected: * all Legacy Park buildings * all Cajun Village buildings * Café Lafleur Di Lis * Parker Hall * all maintenance facilities * Child Development Center * Joel L. Fletcher Hall * Girard Park Circle Parking Tower * Stokes Hall * Clyde L. Rougeou Hall * the Visual Arts Annex * H.L.
Griffin Hall * James R. Oliver Hall * Edith Garland Dupre’ Library, and * Billeaud Hall.
During the boil water advisory, water must be boiled for one full minute and cooled before drinking or using it for cooking.
Water fountains in the affected buildings will be disconnected from Wednesday afternoon through Sunday.
Water pressure will be reduced from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 16.
