Power outage at water plant leads to boil advisories near Oakdale Park, Wildwood Park
The loss of power at the Collins Park Water Treatment Plant pump station has led the city to issue a boil advisory for two areas.
City spokesman Ignazio Messina said in a statement Friday that the pump station lost power for “less than one minute,” when backup generators restored power.
The possible drop in water pressure has prompted the city to issue boil advisories until 5 p.m. Saturday as a precaution.
The two areas affected by the boil advisories are not contiguous, with one in East Toledo around Oakdale Park and the other in West Toledo surrounding Wildwood Park.
The West Toledo area’s boundaries are Central Avenue, Corey Road, Holland-Sylvania Road, and Sylvania Avenue.
The East Toledo area’s boundaries are Oak Street, Florence Road, East Broadway Street, and the railroad tracks.
