UPDATE: Boil-water advisory lifted in Waterford
WATERFORD, Ohio (WTAP) – UPDATE: 9/18/2018, 3:30 PM Tri-County Rural Water & Sewer District says the boil-water advisory has been lifted for customers in Waterford, Ohio.
Tri-County Rural Water & Sewer District says a broken water main was repaired Sunday, but a Boil Water Advisory is still in effect for nearly 400 customers in Waterford, Ohio.
TCRW’s General Manager, Candice Armstrong, said a water main ripped apart from old age and high water pressure, and was fixed around noon Sunday.
Workers are currently flushing the water lines and grabbing water samples for testing, which should be completed by late Tuesday or early Wednesday, Armstrong said.
Until then, the Boil Water Advisory remains in effect.
The water main break that has residents on the Waterford side of the Muskingum River without water should be repaired soon.
WTAP received a call early Sunday morning from Tri-County Rural water & Sewer District reporting a "major water break" in one of their water mains, causing water to three to four hundred residents to be shut off.
Tri-County Water now says that it plans to have the main repaired by noon or 1:00 p.m.
When water is restored, residents will be under a boil advisory.
WTAP will have updates throughout the afternoon.
