Boil advisory issued after water main break
Norwalk’s General Services Department has completed work on fixing a water main break on South Old State Road, between Akron and Cleveland roads.
The water main break forced the closure of Old State Road, which lasted about seven hours after workers began working in the 5’clock hour this morning.
This will affect water on at least the east side of town, city officials said.
Discoloration of the water is likely from minerals naturally found in the pipe.
Signs have been posted designating a boil advisory area.
Water samples will be taken, results for which typically take about 24 hours.
Once samples come back negative the red boil advisory signs will be changed to blue boil advisory lifted signs.
The city asked via its Facebook page that residents “send good thoughts for those city workers getting wet outside this morning to re-establish your water supply.”
