Grand Prairie under boil advisory
Those living in Grand Prairie are under a boil advisory after a pipe broke today.
Grand Prairie is an unincorporated community in St. Landry Parish.
According to Parish President Bill Fontenot, the repairs have been made to the pipe, but since the water was shut off because of the break, customers must boil their water before consumption.
Samples of the water are being sent to the state’s Department of Health.
The advisory will be lifted once water samples are approved.
Fontenot is hoping the advisory will be lifted by Friday or Monday at the latest.
