The boil water advisory issued earlier this week by the Detroit Water and Sewerage has been lifted for residents and businesses in parts of southwest Detroit.
The advisory in effect since Wednesday covered customers within the boundaries of West Jefferson, Vernor Highway, Miller Road and Livernois.
Two rounds of multiple samples taken and tested by the Great Lakes Water Authority show the water meets the Safe Drinking Water Act, resulting in lifting the advisory, the water authority said in a statement on Saturday
DWSD issued the advisory when low water pressure was reported by customers in the area due to a water transmission line break.
DWSD customers who experience outages, see running water or other water and sewer issues, can report them to the department at (313) 267-7401 or use the free Improve Detroit app for Apple and Android mobile devices.
