Boil Water Advisory Still Active For Jessamine County
Boil Water Advisory Still Active For Jessamine County.
JESSAMINE COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) – Jessamine County schools are closed Tuesday as boil water advisory is still in effect for part of the county.
The issue was made Monday morning after a 20 inch water line broke near the intersection of the 27 Bypass and Highway 29.
Areas impacted by the advisory are north of Edgewood Drive, west of Shun Pike, and all customers west of the Nicholasville Bypass are affected.
Neighborhoods off of Keene Road and North Third Street including Squires Lake, Meadowlark, Keene Crossings, Keeneland, Bell Place, and the St Joseph Jessamine ER are also included.
We’re told some other areas may be impacted and if you have any discoloration or odor in your tap water, you need to make sure you boil it before drinking it.
Administrators say they canceled schools because the water restrictions would make it too difficult to accommodate students at eight of the county’s public schools.
Even though the water line was fixed around noon Monday, the boil water advisory will be in effect until 5 p.m. Tuesday.
