COLUMBIA COUNTY, Fla. — The City of Lake City has issued a boil water advisory notice impacting those who have experienced a total loss of water pressure.
Sometime Friday morning a water main broke along Brookside Court and US Highway 90. The break will affect those living in and around the Lake City area.
Pressure loss affected those between I-75 and US 441 east and west and between Lake Jeffery Rd. and Bascom Norris Dr. north and south. The City’s water tower system maintained pressure integrity at sufficient levels and did not extend throughout all of Lake City.
The City is issuing the boil water advisory to anyone within the affected area that experienced complete pressure loss. Those who are unsure if the pressure was completely lost are encouraged to boil the water as a precaution.
Businesses and schools in the area are advised to adhere to the boil water advisory as well. The advisory will remain in effect until further notice.
Water should be boiled for two minutes and given time to cool prior to consumption.
