Andover Borough lifts boil water advisory

A boil water advisory that had been in effect for select Andover Borough residents since Tuesday has been lifted.
A post on the Borough’s Facebook page early this afternoon stated that residents could resume their normal water usage after test results came back from the state lab.
Borough Clerk Beth Brothman said the overall process — which includes taking a water sample, sending it to a lab and receiving state approval to lift the advisory — is often a lengthy one, so it was not unusual for the advisory to remain for so long.
The advisory was put in place as a result of a water main break reported early Tuesday morning.
The break affected the area along Route 206 north of the Andover Borough Fire Department as well as portions of Lindley Court and Limecrest Road within the borough.
