A weather-related mechanical failure caused wells in the Cliffdale West subdivision to stop pumping early Saturday afternoon, which temporarily shut-off the water supply, an advisory on Aqua’s website said Sunday evening.

The website advised customers in the area to boil their water.

“After a water utility has a service interruption that results in a loss of pressure (less than 30 pounds), as a precaution, the North Carolina Division of Water Resources suggests that customers boil water used for human consumption for one to two minutes before use,” the website said.
