BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – The City of Battle Creek is notifiying residents of a boil water advisory in effect Friday evening.

A portion of the water line was shut down for maintenance, and as the lower pressure can allow bacteria to enter the system, an advisory is issued as a precautionary measure,

Affected streets are Bedford Road, between Spaulding and Michigan Avenues, and Myrtle Avenue, between Bedford Road and Willard Avenue.

Residents are advised not to drink the water without boiling first.

Bring all water to a boil, let it boil for one minute, and let it cool before using, or use bottled water. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation until further notice.
